Our Mission

Students matter at KingsWay because the next generation matters to God. 1 Tim. 4:12 says, “Let no one despise you for your youth, but set the believers an example in speech, in conduct, in love, in faith, in purity.”  That's why our mission is to help students enjoy a growing relationship with God. If that happens, it’s a win!  We accomplish our mission by treasuring Jesus Christ, pursuing authentic community, and loving our neighbors.

The heart-orientation of our mission means student ministry is more than running a program.  It's about partnering with parents to raise up a new generation of God-followers.  Student ministry is discipleship ministry.  Over the years, we've found consistent, quality programs provide an ideal context for discipleship ministry.  All our student ministry programs are guided by 7 Core Values:

1. The Word of God must provide the framework for discipleship ministry. (2 Tim. 3:16-17)

2. God has given parents primary responsibility for discipling their children. (Deut. 6:4-9)

3. God has ordained the church to envision, equip and encourage parents. (Eph. 4:12-16)

4. The church and the family are designed to work together in discipling students. (Acts 2:42-47)

5. Students and parents need to experience the love and care of God in the context of community. (1 Jn. 4:7-11)

6. Students and parents need truth to build their lives upon: who God is, what He’s done, and why it matters. (Ps. 78:1-7)

7. Being faithful to the Gospel is more important than being culturally relevant; the method must never overshadow the message. (1 Cor. 2:1-5)
